OETAS > Treating the Addictions Patient with Co-Occurring Disorders

OETAS is pleased to offer a specialty training certificate in the treatment of co-occurring disorders.  This certificate is earned through the completion of an extensive program of course work and practice.

Four prerequisite courses and the 48 hour experiential course must be completed to earn the certificate. Also required are completion of courses in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Challenge Exams with a minimum passing score of 70 and course equivalency reviews are available to assist you with meeting requirements. Please see the link titled Challenge Examination Process.

Documentation of training, in the form of grade sheets or official, college-sealed transcripts, must be submitted to OETAS for review and approval. Please use the application form provided for this purpose. A catalogue description or syllabus of each course must be included unless the course was provided by OETAS. Beginning July 1, 2002, evaluations of course work from a college, university, or continuing education vendor other than OETAS cost $25.00. Include a check payable to DHMH-OETAS with your application.
